Commentary by Jack Squat ...

"Senate passes measure that would protect gays -- Obama expected to sign legislation on hate crimes" I sure am glad to hear that Obama and his administration are moving above and beyond in their efforts to protect gays & lesbians ... well, in the interest of fairness, all human beings deserve to be kept safe from those who would do them harm ... but ... according to the government, gays & lesbians now deserve a bigger slice of that fairness than the rest of us ... I suppose laws already in place that should keep the general public safe just wasn't good enough for that crowd. Just yesterday, in Florida, another innocent child was found murdered ... the lifeless body of a 7-year-old girl (Somer Thompson) who had been missing since Monday, obviously abducted while walking home from school, was found discarded like a sack of garbage in a filthy landfill ... that little angel, along with countless others who have fell victim to similar shameful acts, certainly deserve a bigger slice of fairness and protection than what they've received ... America -- get your priorities straight! ... no individual or group, regardless of race, color, creed, sexual orientation or political affiliation deserves special, preferential treatment above and beyond any other individual or group -- not in America ... as I said, ALL human beings deserve to be kept safe from those who would do them harm ... Barack Obama and that bunch in Washington have shown us just where their priorities lie ... so now that they've made sure that those in the gay & lesbian culture can safely walk the streets and sleep in their beds at night without fear of harm -- how about affording that same level of protective covering to our irreproachable and powerless children???
How about protecting the children rather than the predator? ... how about enforcing laws already on the books, or enacting sufficient, new laws that will get these rapists, kidnappers, pedophiles, murderers and all lowlife weirdos, who live and breathe to do nothing other than hurt our children, off our streets and far away from decent folk? ... how about seating judges who possess the courage, character and brass to avail themselves to the severest extent of the sentencing guidelines already in place for these crimes against humanity, and put these habitual scumbags in their place? ... jail ... prison ... a deserted island ... or a grave -- and that ain't just Jack Squat! UPDATE: The body of another missing child, 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten, was found Friday in Missouri ... --Jack Squat

Welcome Jack Squat to center stage!!

I've seen some of your stuff over in the Southern Jackass' Stall but he hasn't identified you other than to say you're a Yankee cousin from Chicago!

He called you a "Chicago Bad Donkey"! Well, what he said was a little different but he knows such language ain't allowed here in the Shop ... I just wanted to make that clear!

You said it good Yankee!!

Maybe you'll rile some folks up so much that they'll let us know what they think ...

Again, welcome!

Non-pedophilic child molesters claim that Pedophilic child molesters commit ten times more sexual acts against children than do they!

I know, I know, they're prejudiced ... that's what I thought too ... but it's true!!

Could be they can't help themselves!

It appears that the embedded poll has become corrupted ... was working properly last night ...

I will look at it when we return from Vandy ... and attempt to fix the problem

I believe your poll is bent outta shape ...

journalist jimmy smith said...

that's not the same poll they used on gil on the other blog, is it?

matthew, there are 3 pages?

more baseball on the 28th. jimmy smith does not like the phillies or the yankees.

why couldn't the braves be there instead? oh, requires winning more games and currently managed by bobby cox. hmmmm . . .

is obama re-electable? will hillary run again for president of the united states? will the republicans have a strong nominee in 2012? to these questions jimmy smith says, "humbug".

time for whigs. yes, time for whigs. whigs can get things straightened out. with change.

change from the change. must change from the change you can believe in while still able. not more change you can believe in. change from that change. yes, we can change from the change you can believe in.

yes, a departure from third person.

and what whig can win?

vote jimmy smith, first whig in the race.

Hopefully, Jimmy Smith's Whig in the 2012 campaign will be better than the old 2008 version ... would have won Tennessee and Georgia, methinks but folks mistook him for old Hank Snow and were afraid to to vote for him since Hank had been dead for close to 10 years.

Lots of dead folks have been known to vote in Georgia and Tennessee ... Alabama too, but few have themselves received many votes!

Jimmy would have done better in Canada, methinks ... Hank was maybe the beat all time Canadian ... "I've been everywhere" and "I don't hurt anymore" ... maybe a million others! In addition to his Whig recognition, he was recognized as one of the best all time!

It seems that the Boss has a special relationship with somebody at Blogspot ... any time he publishes anything, they add all sorts of special code, just for him!

When he published the piece for his cousin, Jack asked if I'd embed a pole for him since SJA don't do ironing, cooking or poles ... some of you saw what happened!

I got blamed ... even had me thinking I had messed things up ... but it was them suckers ... they changed the code!

Hopefully, they'll leave it alone ... we'll see!

A sign of old age ... repeating one's self ... Hank was maybe the beat all time Canadian ... "I've been everywhere" and "I don't hurt anymore" ... maybe a million others!

In addition to his Whig recognition, he was recognized as one of the best all time!

Well, he was!! I bore repeating ... maybe he wasn't so well recognized after all and why Jimmy didn't carry Davidson county ... but I liked him and voted for Jimmy too!

Well that poll still ain't allowing me to vote ... only showing results of those it did ...

JJS, I was talking about Bob's birthday post. Sorry for the confusion.

BOB said...

Boss, that means you've probably already voted in the the poll without realizing it ... you been eatin' bad oats?

To show how people don't read ,,, I just received an email from someone wanting to know why the current poll in the Shop's side bar had no choices regarding whether or not Gays should be allowed to serve in the military!!

Well, for starters, that wasn't the question ... the question was "what should control the decision as to whether homosexuals should be allowed to serve in the military?" ...

Perhaps it wasn't well asked but our interest was not in whether you thought they should or should not be allowed to serve ... but rather, what criteria should be used in making that determination ...

Ah hope somebodah with the Braves is watchin the game tonaght. The Phillahs ah plahin lahk Majuh League ballplayuhs. Theh ah not swinging at fuhst pitches and theh ah making CC wuhk and get tahred. The Phillahs look well managed and lahk theh know how to take an at-bat. Watchin the Braves shows theh ah not well managed and theh do not get good at-bats. The Phillahs alsa run and steal and take extra bases. Runnin baseball is nevah plahed in Atlanta. Mah Jimma thinks the Phillahs mah just be the best team in the Series. Tahm will tell. Foah me, anah team that plahs good baseball and makes the pitcha beat 'em if he can is goin to do prettah well. This is bettah baseball than we have been watchin in Atlanta this yeah.

My gum, I do think she's got it!

I think that Yankee boy that gave up the single in the 8th it a keeper too ... looked like he had good stuff!

The best place for those who commit these crimes is in the hottest places of hell. People who do harm to children are the worst, by far. Laws don't seem able to protect them and those laws are already in place. What makes anyone think 'hate" crimes will ever be stopped?

BOB said...

I just want to say welcome and thank ask cherlock for the visit ... I see you've added us to your blogroll too and that's an honor we take seriously!

Thank you!

Over in Miss Carol's Salon, you'll find another Holmes but we don't call her that.

For some reason, I think most thought the commentary was about one thing when it was about another ... you got it right. methinks!

We're always hopeful that folks find us to be a bit more than our tomfoolery might suggest ... but we're never quite sure.

I said a bit more ...

If you haven't yet fully explored the shop, have a stick of the Boss' candy and take a few minutes to look around.

Without going into detail ... in addition to our regular posts we have several Special Features covering different things ... there's a navigational menu in the Shop's Sidebar providing one click access to each.

For technical reasons, each has it's own url but it's one blog ... one Shop ... "The Old Barbershop" ... at least to us!

The first technical reason is that as far as I know, I'm the only one around here that can even spell computer ... which is good since the rest of them can write better than me.

The second is that spelling computer is about all my rusty and outmoded skill set allows me to still do.

Hope you enjoy it, will visit often and be a regular commentator!
